Welcome to the next step of your personal journey toward healing and learning how to best navigate life’s complexities. In therapy, we will create a safe space for you to honor both your mind and body as we explore your unique history, strengths, and desires. My belief is that therapy is a powerful opportunity to better understand yourself and gain the tools to write your own story with compassionate guidance.
With my background in social work, anthropology, and psychology, I approach therapy from a holistic and nonjudgemental view that incorporates the bigger picture among the smaller issues. This approach is also grounded in the belief that your journey is deeply personal and should align with your own values and cultures, free from shame and fear. As a queer person, I am deeply committed to creating affirming spaces where diverse identities are celebrated. I also recognize that the current and historical challenges of the world bring additional stressors to mental health, and I am here to navigate those complexities alongside you.
I pull from several therapeutic modalities to create a trauma-informed plan that best fits each person.
I mainly use theory and techniques from psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, and somatic therapy. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis. After working in research at the Veterans Health Administration, I completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Washington.
When I’m not doing the job I love, I’m likely reading, traveling, eating, crocheting, gaming, or listening to music. I have many hobbies and love to bond with others over similar interests. I enjoy creating specialized bucket lists and working my way through items. My partner and I are currently making our way through the McMenamin’s passports, but I would love to hear more restaurant recommendations!

Q&A
Q. Some therapists are more comfortable addressing the immediate problem, while others want to focus on the deeper issue. Which are you?
I believe immediate problems often intersect with deeper issues, and it is important to address both to foster long-lasting change. You are in control of the pace we go, and we can pivot between working through immediate issues and exploring deeper wounds.
Q. Do you tend to lead the session, or follow my lead?
I like to walk alongside you during this journey. Sometimes I will follow your guide as we navigate difficult terrain and confusing darkness. Other times I will suggest a different route or alternative plan, but it is always up to you to decide how we use our time together.
Q. What are your strengths as a therapist?
I am here to hold hope for you when you cannot. I prioritize forming deep and trusting relationships that create a safe space to explore the scariest and most scared parts of yourself. I believe insight is a powerful light that illuminates the motives and reasons behind confusing behavior. I show up authentically so you can work towards being your authentic self as well.
Q. If you had one superpower, what would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to fly and experience the amazing freedom that comes from soaring the skies. I love looking out airplane windows and imagining what the clouds feel like. I would also be able to avoid traffic!
Q. What makes you laugh?
Currently the book series Dungeon Crawler Carl is making me both laugh and cry. I highly recommend it if you’re into existential sci-fi mixed with post-apocalyptic reality TV and a talking cat.
Q. Who would you have dinner with, dead or alive?
I would have dinner with all of my friends that live throughout the country. I miss them dearly and wish we could sit across the table and enjoy a good meal together with lots of laughter and catching up.
