I believe that every individual brings a distinct story, personality, and set of experiences into the therapy space—and that these stories deserve to be heard, honored, and explored with care. Life often presents us with pain and difficulty: experiences of trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, disconnection, and relational conflict. These moments can leave us feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck. Reaching out for help in those seasons is an incredibly brave and hopeful
step.

Whether you are navigating a life transition, a strained relationship, unresolved trauma, or overwhelming emotions, therapy can offer a space for reflection, healing, and growth. My hope is to walk alongside you in that process—to hold space for the hard things while also helping you tap into your own capacity for change and resilience. Through therapy, we can begin to notice patterns, challenge old narratives, and form new ways of thinking, coping, and relating that bring more freedom and ease into your daily life.

I believe that real change happens when therapist and client work together in a spirit of openness, curiosity, and mutual respect. I bring a calm, collaborative, and conversational style into the therapy room, and I encourage clients to show up as they are, questions, hesitations, emotions and all. You are always welcome to speak freely, reflect deeply, and move at a pace that feels right for you. Your comfort and sense of agency are central to the work we do together.

My therapeutic approach is client-centered and integrative. I draw from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Gottman Method interventions for couples. I also use mindfulness-based practices and Written Exposure Therapy (WET) for trauma treatment. I enjoy working with both individuals and couples, and my areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, family dynamics, and emotional regulation.

I hold specialized training in DBT, CBT, EFT, and WET, and I continue to seek ongoing education and growth in my field. My greatest passion is helping clients break unhealthy cycles and create new, life-giving patterns that foster deeper connection—with themselves and with others.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking local trails like Pine Bluff Loop and Liberty Lake Loop, spending time with my wife and my three kids, going to the movies, and exploring new restaurants around Spokane. I’m more of an introvert at heart and find a deep sense of peace in nature—especially when I’m near water. I love amusement parks and never pass up a good roller coaster. And yes, I’m a proud Star Wars nerd. More than anything, I value being present with my family and making meaningful memories together, whether we’re out on an adventure or just enjoying a quiet evening at home.

Q&A with Patrick

1.) Some therapists are more comfortable addressing the immediate problem, while others want to focus on the deeper issue. Which are you?

I work from a solution focused client centered approach, so I typically begin with working with the client to find solution to their immediate problems.

2.) Do you tend to lead the session, or follow my lead?

I work collaboratively with clients going in whatever direction they wish to go in session.

3.) What are your strengths as a therapist?

I believe one of my greatest strengths is relationship building in the therapeutic sense and making clients feel safe, heard and respected.

4.) If you had one superpower, what would it be and why?

The power to heal others, I’d still be only one man but at least I could help those in my community and cure the sick kids I could get to even though it would still hurt that I couldn’t save everyone.

5.) What makes you laugh?

I enjoy stand up comedy. Me and my wife have seen live, Jo Koy, Daniel Tosh, Kevin Hart and Bert Kriecher.

6.) Who would you have dinner with, dead or alive?
